Butterscotch hazelnut bar
BUTTER SCOTCH HAZELNUT BAR
I got this recipe from the cover of SCS butter. The recipe came out really well and was most sinful !!!
Ingredients :
Crust :
80 grams unsalted butter
60 grams brown dermerara sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
250 grams flour
35 grams ground hazelnuts
Filling :
180 grams unsalted butter
40 grams brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp golden syrup
150 grams condensed milk
150 grams whole toasted hazelnuts
120 grams melted white chocolate
Method :
Preheat your oven to 180 degree Celsius. Prepare a square cake tin by greasing it with butter. Pour butter and sugar and beat well. Add egg, vanilla essence, flour and hazelnut powder. Mix it well. Press this mixture into the cake tin and bake for 25 minutes until firm. Cool it.
Filling : Heat butter , sugar , golden syrup and condensed milk. Simmer till golden brown in colour. Now add the hazelnuts. Pour over the crust and leave it to set. Melt the white chocolate and drizzle over it and then cut it into bars.
