Eggless Chocolate Indulgence

Hi friends, It's been a while since I have uploaded anything sweet. I made this cake for a friend of mine who wanted to surprise her husband with a birthday cake.
Now why would I call this " indulgence". This is an egg-less cake to start with no butter and of course..... loads of Chocolate !!!!

Chocolate Cake :
Ingredients :

1 cup cake flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup yogurt
3/4 1 1 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla essence

Method :
Pre-heat oven to 350 deg Fahrenheit / 180 deg Celsius. Grease an 8 inch pan and set aside.
Beat yogurt well ,removing any lumps and add sugar to it. Beat well and add baking powder and baking soda to it. Beat again and set aside for 5 minutes until you see small bubbles in ti. To this , add vanilla essence and oil. Mix well until all ingredients combine.
Sift in the flour . Gently fold in the mixture. Pour into the prepared tin. Tap gently to remove air bubbles. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool it well before cutting .

Chocolate Sauce:
Ingredients:

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 2/3 cups white sugar
1 1/4 cups water
1 tsp vanilla extract

Method :
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cocoa, sugar and water. Bring to a boil and let it boil for a minute. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla essence. Let it cool and then use it.

I have drizzled the warm chocolate sauce over the warm cake and then sprinkled some pretty decorations on top. Since both the cake and the sauce are warm, the dry cake would absorb the sauce and the cake gets real moist and remains soft for almost two days.
